The Bridge Series
This work is from a series of landscape paintings of Twin Cities metro area bridges traversing the Mississippi River. My interest in bridges is derived from their magnificent forms and their connection to community and culture. The sublime sweep of a well-designed bridge is astounding as is the splendor of nature. The ramifications of these structures are fascinating. They suggest connection, progress, and technological prowess while simultaneously suggesting vulnerability and perilousness. My artistic intent is to communicate the feelings and spirit of these structures and spaces they occupy in an engaging visual form.
